Melody L. Copenny is a poet, writer, author, and storyteller living a gospel-centered life. An Atlanta native, she resides in Orlando, FL, and writes to be real, relevant, and reveal.
She’s an editor-in-chief, journalist, content strategist, communicator, and cultural competency consultant and facilitator for an international non-profit organization where she covers national and international stories with themes of hope and eternity in mind.
Melody’s passionate about helping grievers grieve well as they walk through “the valley of the shadows.” She’s compelled and committed to injecting her voice into the world by pursuing a regular intersection of creativity, words, theology, and popular culture.
A lover of classic soul, funk, and R&B music, Melody enjoys a flexitarian-pescatarian-vegetarian lifestyle with hints of vegan tastes. One of her passions is interval running 5K, 10K, 15K, and half marathon races with her BGR sole sisters and currently, she serves as a BGR Ambassador for the Black Girls Run! Orlando chapter. She feels there’s a full marathon inside of her just waiting to get out and looks forward to achieving that goal soon.
